Sonic 3D Blast

Sonic 3D BlastSonic 3D Blast, or Sonic 3D: Flickies’ Island for European and PAL gamers was released in 1996 for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Saturn; and a year later for the PC. The Saturn version was much more superior than the Genesis/Mega Drive version because the system could render true 3D graphics. The main gameplay was still the same on both consoles with an isometric 2D viewpoint; although the graphics looked much better on the Saturn. The special stages in the Saturn version consisted of running down a 3D halfpipe while the Genesis/Mega Drive version had Sonic running down a bridge with a somewhat 3D feel. The PC version was more of a mixture between the two with the halfpipe, but not in full 3D.
