Sonic Drift 2 was released in 1995 for the Sega Game Gear. The first Sonic Drift game was only released in Japan, so many western gamers were confused as to why the game was called Sonic Drift 2. It was the first game in which you could play as Metal Sonic and Fang the Sniper (Nack the Weasel).
